All units are regulated and designed
for years of reliable service. They can also be used with other 12V
devices like: transmitters, VHF/UHF ham radios, commercial/land-mobile
radios, linear/car audio amplifiers, test bench equipment, point-of-sale
displays and aquariums that requires 1- 30 amps. Due to the thousands of
possible uses/setups, individual results may vary.
Equipped with SMART Overload Circuitry, that will fully protect the
power supply and your electronic devices in the event of accidental
shorting or high current spikes. When the PSU is turned on and running
under load, the SMART overload circuitry will latch at that current load
(up to 30 amps depending on model). It will then tune itself to detect
high current sinks that differ from the load it sensed at startup. SMART
circuitry will see high current sinks as an internal short in the PSU
or device that it was powering & will shut the PSU down to protect
itself and the connected device. In most cases this ideal
threshold/swing would need to be 20 amps or greater (depending on model)
and would not be reached under normal usage with most devices. For
instance some larger Ham radios can draw 5-20 amps while receiving but
while under transmit if that radio were to quickly draw an additional 15
amps or more the SMART circuitry may see this as a short circuit and
shut off the PSU. A simple reset will turn it back on. We have seen a
great number of compatible setups where the amperage swing was no more
than 15-20 amps. So for radio testers, individual results will vary
based on setup.
Each
Power Supply has Convenient, front-mounted terminals for 12V power that
makes hook-ups fast and easy. ON\OFF switch is located in the rear.
